Having survived six assassination attempts while defending her people and land against illegal miners and corporate exploitation, Juma's journey culminates in her historic appointment as Brazil's first Secretary of Indigenous Rights. Alongside her, husband Hugo Loss leads high-risk operations against illegal mining as head of Special Operations at IBAMA - even as Juma navigates pregnancy and impending motherhood amid escalating political and personal stakes. At once an intimate love story and an urgent call to action, YANUNI is a portrait of resilience, Indigenous sovereignty, and the fight to protect the world's largest rainforest.
