Sound Bath and Yin Yoga
A Friday evening beginning with Yin practice guided by Juli, followed by a sound bath with Olivia
Service Description
This one feels nostalgic: Olivia is visiting from Australia for a month and will guide two sound baths at Korkkari, where it all started with her 2.5 years ago. This session including about a 70 min yin yoga practice to begin with. Sound bath is an ancient healing method and scientifically based on two factors: the effects of vibration and the frequency of the sound. The brain interprets the frequency of the bowls as Alpha waves, which are associated with a state of deep relaxation and tranquillity. The vibrations of the sound bowls move through the fluids in the body, massaging and relaxing the muscles all the way down to the cellular level. People often share how a sound bath has helped relieve nerve-related pain or release deep-seated muscular tension. One hour of sound bowl relaxation can be even compared to three hours of sleep. It can reduce stress, balance the body's energy centres (chakras), improve concentration and calm the mind. Yin yoga is a deeply opening practice for the body and often more challenging one for the mind by letting go of the control. We work with long held, soft postures - the more you let go, the more space you give the asana to work in your body. Yin yoga is another form of relaxing the nervous system on a deeper level, calming the mind and improving deep sleep. Together these two will offer what your body, mind and nervous system are asking for. Come join<3
